About the company

Since the beginning of activities in 1993 the company has specialized in transshipment of metal and metal products, handling production of the local metallurgical manufacturer JSC „Liepajas Metalurgs”, and transit cargoes of manufacturers from CIS countries.

JSC Liepajas Metalurgs became the main shareholder of the company in 2001. It marked a brand new stage in the development of the company, when along with the change of owners by building a bulk cargo storage warehouse the company started diversification of its services. Consequently, by implementing purposeful politics of company’s diversification and involvement of financing, the bulk cargo handling terminal was commissioned in 2005, the terminal for handling ferroalloys – in 2006 and cement handling terminal – in 2009.

In 1998 the company was awarded the status of Liepaja’s Special Economic Zone commercial company,  allowing the company to enjoy following direct tax exemptions:

  • 5% company’s income tax rate;
  • 80-100% discount on real estate tax.

Considerable tax exemptions allow the company to perform purposeful investment policy, ensuring sustainable development of territories being at the company’s disposal. Status of the Free Zone company provides advantageous conditions for the work with transit cargoes to / from the third counties (beyond EU).
